Why aren’t the Reps running a campaign based on THEIR accomplishments and instead retort to SMEARING Obama?

Posted Sunday, August 30, 2009 by admin

The campaign seems to deflect attention from the past 8 years of accomplishments. Why? That is how you win an election, by showing people your RESUME, by being ACCOUNTABLE.

So why not compete purely on accomplishments instead of engaging in smear against the other candidate?

This is how it works, always has, always will.

Because they are fear mongers and full of hot air

    That’s politics, baby.

    Because it works.

This is how they do it. Do you remember what they did to McCain. Said he had a black baby out of wedlock, when the truth is they adopted her. They believe in brainwashing instead of the facts. It’s like high school.

    Where’s Obama’s resume?

    …oh…that’s all?

Don’t start the bs, they all have smear campaigns.

They are just showing who Obama really is. His cult-like following is absolutely blind to how dangerous he is. The Republicans don’t really have a great candidate themselves- McCain is more democrat than republican, so they don’t talk much about him.

Is this your first election, or did you just wake up from a coma? Hello—smearing the opponent is the backbone of politics. Hardly anyone runs a positive campaign where they build themselves up–they always try to bring the other person down.

Because the result of that would be certain defeat in that they have accomplished NOTHING! They have nothing to brag about. We are in debt up to our eyeballs, and there is no end in sight in Iraq. On top of that, they are really trying to pick a fight with Iran and are criticizing Obama for suggesting diplomacy as an alternative to outright WW III.

Umm. Let’s see Obama’s accomplishments. So far, nothing but rhetoric.

  • holdonsweety said on Sep 21st, 2009 at 11:14 PM:

exactly, just as obama and company accomplished … errrr…. ummm…. well, he got rid of a very nasty pastor.

    thanks, honey.

I look at it differently. I don’t see it as a smear campaign, more like they just want Obama to be held accountable for his resume. Some of us don’t believe he has answered all of the questions yet.

  • Me, Too said on Sep 27th, 2009 at 10:44 PM:

The answer to this question is simple. They have no accomplishments. We are in a recession or close to it, our National Debt is soaring, we are bogged down in a War with no end, our civil liberties trampled, our jobs are disappearing, our salaries lowered, our Housing Market floundering, our educational system faltering….what’s to brag about?

  • rob_n_tx2 said on Sep 30th, 2009 at 5:54 PM:

I believe they are .. and I think the democrats should run on the accomplishments of the democratic congress the last two years… damn thats a big -0-

Lets see the democrats could run on some of their past accomplishments too.. like passing so much environmental legislation that it takes 12 Thats TWELVE years just to obtain approval to build a gasoline refinery in this country then several more years build one…and now they want to blame bush on the country not having enough refineries to stay up with fuel demand.. thats just one small one..

  • odogwunna said on Oct 4th, 2009 at 1:05 AM:

They don’t have anything else to run on, McCain’s adviser resigned yesterday because he has too much respect for Obama..

  • therealmadea said on Oct 6th, 2009 at 8:21 PM:

Easy – what accomplishments could they talk about? Oh maybe the weapons of mass destruction – yeah let’s talk about that.

  • jim h said on Oct 9th, 2009 at 8:56 PM:

If you run a campaign based solely on accomplishments, what is Obama going to run on?

  • Ethan Edwards said on Oct 12th, 2009 at 10:38 AM:

ummm remove the log from your eye and we’ll see about getting the speck from ours

….like addressing Sen. McCain’s record and accomplishments not taring him with what the prior administration did , if you’re such a fan of individual merit (which I doubt being a liberal you’re more concern with collective guilt…)

I **** to be the bearer of bad news but a lot of those “smears” have a lot of truth in them. Even a blind person can see and it’s not JUST the repubs. My wife is a registered democrat liberal and she sees it too. She’s voting for McCain this election. Sorry if you are so gullible you can’t see the truth.

because they are backstabbing jealous poo-slinging republicans who only help people who already have the means to help themselves….
