Is there matchmaking online for Halo 3 campaign?

What I mean is, can Halo 3 party you up with a bunch of strangers and you can play Halo 3 campaign. I need some of the armor variants but I am not that good to get them by myself so I figured if I had some random people who were good at it help me beat it, I could get the armor.

    well no but you can play with recent players i guess if you invite them and the maximum amount of people on campaign is 4

    Well you can invite friends and recent players to play campaign with you. But thats if the recent players want to. I would choose inviting friends.
