How do you feel about negative campaign ads?

Posted Friday, October 30, 2009 by admin

I think that candidates spend too much time defending themselves, their spoues, and their campaign teams and am tired of all the attacks. It seems like they should be spending more time talking about what they stand for themselves. What do you think? What affects your vote the most?

According to the answers often posted…it appears that all of the negative campaigning has worked…especially when it comes to the smear campaigns ran against Obama. Simply put…they just aren’t true (just a little bit of real research on reputable news sites will show you that)….but many Republicans are buying the BS.

Very Tired of them… I am to the point now i don’t believe a word coming from either camp…. To be honest though this has been a republican tactic in almost every election… I’m not saying Obama has been innocent but the scale has been tilting towards the McCain camp as for who is doing the most..

Bottom line is I am voting Obama as I honestly feel he has run by far the most honest campaign.

The large quantities of Smear Ads being flooded onto the public by Obama’s campaign platform that is trying to subliminally tell all Americans that we are unintelligent and that he will have no problems destroying our country by first dividing it and then conquering it.

as long as they are truthfull i am in support of them……

but twisted out of context skew ones should be illegal

issues and positions dictate my voting preferences….as well as how pretty the candidates wife is…..

Smear is bad, the truth is good. If someone does a bad or questionable thing or has bad or questionable relationships, that is how we can determine their character. A candidate can stand there all day and tell us what he’s gonna do…what has he done? Who has he done these things with? I believe the character of the candidate (if reported truthfully) can give us a glimpse into what we may really be voting for..not just pretty promises.

The odd one can be effective. However consistant running
of them can backfire on the candidate putting them out.

I dislike them by any candidate

    Want issues and details only

Those ads only serve some people the public in mass is turned off by them
Nothing works faster than a negative ad to see people just throw up their hands..fed up and say what is the point…still do not know I am voting for……….

Called old school politics and the Republicans are best at this type…throw the person off so not to ask why

I think McCain has run the most honest campaign. Obama did **** against Hillary even if the media does otherwise. No wonder Hillocrats are voting McCain and **** obama.

Jewels, I agree unless they inform us about a candidates carter. With the basis press going both ways they craft the news to their agenda and don’t inform us of the facts. I think we are smart enough to see through most of the BS.

Ignorant people fall for negative campaign ads. Sadly, it worked in 2004, and it could work again in 2008. Does that tell you anything about the average American?

I was going to provide a Youtube link to the voters in West Virginia, but Yahoo won’t let me. Look for yourselves.

    Obama for America!

NOT IMPRESSED. I do my own research.

I would like to see Obama and McCain at these town hall meetings and engaging in debates, especially as I am unclear on most of Obama’s views. My concern is that Obama seems to be running from get togethers, just like he ran from Hillary. It certainly does something for his image.

The thing that affects my vote the most is how these candidates answer the questions and whether or not I agree with what they are saying. Until they begin speaking together or debating, I have not gotten the whole picture of their candidacy.

It’s been going on for so long it’s actually expected. I ignore it, when I choose to vote for someone I do my research, my candidate’s record speaks for itself, that’s why they get my vote, the negative smears don’t sway me.

    McCain/Clinton 2008!!!
