The worst advertising is when you tell a lie infront of the camera and the consumer finds it.

The worst advertising campaign that I can remember was IBM Corp. trying to sell OS/2 back in the 1990’s as a competing product to MS Windows.

There have been many horrible advertising campaigns over the years and quite a few of them, if not majority of them fall under one catagory: politics. I don’t think there is anyone out there that can’t say they get sick and tired of the crap negative political campaign ads!!!!!

I am really annoyed by these new Geico commercials featuring washed up stars helping ‘regular’ people tell about there good experiences with Geico insurance. The one with Little Richard is particularly disturbing.

Within my lifetime – I forget the brand, but this loner was mooching along a riverbank in a city. Black and white ad. Then he pulls out a cigarette and lights up. Caption “You’re never alone with a …{whatever the brand was}”

I have to second the Geico ads. Little Richard is scary but the Movie Guy is pure evil.

The worst ever advertising campaign for me was running a 3 month radio campaign for nearly $15,000 and not getting any business from it…..

Expensive lesson but one well learned!
