I got a legal copy of Gears of war 2 should i go online?

Okay this is what im trying to ask i have gears of war 2 and people say dont go online and play the multiplayer cause i will get banned so they say that i should play the campaign but there are alot of people playing the co-op campaign online what should i do?
For those of u who are wondering why i have a copy of gears of war 2 is because my brother is a video game tester and he got this in a prize.

    uhhh if it’s legal than they’ll recognize his gamertag or whatever checks and balances they have in place and you should be fine. ask him, did they tell him that he could play 2 player co-op?

    you might get a notice about it, if they ban you then explain to Microsoft about why your playing a game thats not out yet. It should work

    If your bro won it in a prize there is no discussion you WILL be able to play it online. i know people who have downloaded an illegal copy of gears 2 and have been online now for WEEKS and havent been found. microsoft doesnt know if you are a epic games develpor or not so you cant even get banned if it is illegal
