What is more effective/persuasive? Someone reading a speech to you or you watching/reading it online?

like specifically, would you prefer a presidential campaign speech to be read while you are in the audience or while you are at home on youtube?
Im doing a study of how technology has changed campaign speeches, now you can hear most of them online rather than going to local gathering to actually hear them in person. Has technology improved this process? would you rather read campaign speeches online?
Or do the campaign speeches even affect your decision at all? Do you know who you want to vote for from the start or do the campaign speeches actually make a difference?

Personally, I prefer to hear the candidate making the speech. If I am hearing it from the candidate’s own mouth, I can hear their inflection and see their body language.
However, if I read it, I am afraid my own inflections or opinions may color what I am reading and change the true message. And if I read it the next day, any news stories I may have heard about the speech may color my opinion of it.
Most influential of all would be if I could see the speech live, rather than on television or youtube. I love politics, and seeing the candidates in person gives you a more true picture than relying on what the network chooses to show you.
To me it would be more persuasive for them to come to my hometown or nearby to show that they care for their voters, but I also like to see that they are reaching out to the younger group, like me, by doing YouTube debates and things like that. I actually watch more of the Internet things, but that is because I live in a small town, and they will probably never come here.
