have a biz opp, gambling and affiliated with a CDL-A driver recruiting site. Looking for an inexpensive, yet effective, marketing campaign: e-mail blast to opp seekers, drivers, and gamblers. Are viral blasts, e-books,and/blogs a good idea? if so, how? any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thank you for your time.

It may be a great ad…but then the network, TV station or cable company RUINS it by playing it AD NAUSEUM…and I just think the advertisers must not watch TV that much and leave all the decision making to the ad agencies who make more when the ads they create come with big promotion budgets to absolutely SATURATE the market.
I’m getting fed up, though, with so many saturation campaigns. I think a lot of advertisers are just ruining television now. The proliferation of so many cable channels has brought a lot of change…some good, but also a lot of bad because there is so much competition now for leisure time with the advancement of internet as an entertainment alternative. So the response is to pound the viewing audience with so many repetitive messages wherever you can find them, and I for one, just don’t like it. It’s taking the whole medium of television down.
I realize the conventional wisdom of advertising is that it takes 20 or more exposures to a message before it sinks in and motives a change in buyer behavior. But I think that age-old “truism” needs re-thinking because it assumes viewers are total, thick-headed morons and you have to program for the lowest common denominator in society. So pound the hell out of ‘em through repetition after repetition. And I’m sorry, I don’t subscribe to that kind of buyer behavior modification ploy.
I believe if you come up with an effective, eye-catching ad that really sells the product and leaves the consumer with a smile on their face, you won’t NEED to saturate with so many mindless repetitions. I think you can reinforce by utilizing different media to reach the same audience in a similar but modifed message (e.g. shorter copy on billboards but with familiar image from TV campaign). But just blasting same ad over same channel ad nauseum is going too far & hurts you, the advertiser.

My Google AdSense account was just disabled for “invalid click activity” – even though I did NOTHING wrong. I am quite furious and want to know if there are any other advertising website I can use. Please let me know. Thanks!

Video game designers, developers, and manufactures have recently started a campaign against resale stores like GameStop and rental chains since they don’t see profit from secondhand sales or rentals. Even Bungie claimed large losses on Halo 3 because of video game resale stores. Game developers are now considering the option of making games to where you have to pay up to $20 (via unlocking the levels online) for the final levels of a game if you aren’t the game’s original owner. Some companies have taken the idea further to lowering the game cost at retail and making all of their games to where a $20 fee is required to unlock achievements/trophies and the games final levels. Game makers feel that this will increase their profits for their work and help to put an end to some forms of piracy. What do you think? Is this good for the video game business?
MY PERSONAL OPINION: If game developers are getting angry at the profit losses that they are taking because of resale stores like GameStop/EB, then they should stop feeding them promotional materials and focus it instead on pure retail outlets like Best Buy and Wal-Mart. Every time a game maker pushes a product with “bonuses” at a shop like GameStop, they are promoting the idea of selling it back to the store for resale when they are finished with the game. I have never been one to buy used games unless they are imports or for one of my older systems. However, I feel that a downloadable ending will limit the market more than game makers would like because there are still areas where the high speed internet connection that is required is not available or affordable.

I’m writing a term paper on the marketing of internet poker websites(were suppose to compare a product or service to it’s competition) and I was just wondering if anyone knew of where I could find some ideas on what different sites offer, Ex. special sign up bonuses, prizes offered in tournaments, advertising campaigns, etc. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Do you prefer single player campaigns, local multiplayer, or online multiplayer? I enjoy playing online sometimes, but I find I enjoy single player a lot more. The only exception is Gears of War 1/2. I love having a buddy come over and play co-op.
