What’s the average cost of advertising on the internet?

I am trying to start my own small business on the net but would like to know how much it cost to advertise on the net.

    You could look into google adwords, I think you can set your budget .

    It varies depending on the type of advertising you will use to bring visitors to your site, some of the most expensive by far is search engines, simply because you try to be the highest bidder to be number one on a keyword that relates to your site that people search for on google, yahoo, etc.

    Your question is very broad as you can spend pennies to thousands of dollars. It all depends on what you want to accomplish.

    Same with cars. Do you want a some used junker that will get you to the store and back for $250 or do you want the FordGT that will get you from 0 to 60 before you can catch your breath?

    Anyway…be a bit more specific as to what you want to accomplish.

    Build inbound links to your website.
    Most of the directories online charge a one time fee to review your site and add it to their index. Here are three of my favorites:
    The more inbound links to your site, the better you will rank
    with Yahoo / Google / MSN.
