How do I play Halo 3: ODST campaign in online co-op?

Posted Thursday, July 8, 2010 by admin

I just got ODST today and I thought there was an online co-op feature to play the campaign. This game is really hard and would be much better with 2+ players. I see the “Firefight” mode but thats only like waves of Covenant like Horde. How can other people join my campaign game and how can I join theirs?…is this even possible over public Xbox live?
Firefight is pretty cool but I’m not impressed with the rest of the game…too much running around the city with not enough to kill or the enemies are too hard to take on by yourself. I don’t have any friends with ODST yet. It would be much better with matchmaking but I’m sure I’m not the first to say that

Umm yeah you can do it. Start a lobby for the campaign, make sure you signed in Xbox Live, and invite your friends into the lobby and play! You have to make sure the lobby is Open to friends [not closed].

Also, you can only play co-op with people on your friends list, you cant play with strangers. They’re no matchmaking for co-op. ODST doesn’t have matchmaking at all actually, not even for FireFight, which sadly is a letdown.
