The most obvious of course is the Internet, but I know Pod cast and RSS are great ways to reach new markets. I have even seen a new trend in utilizing service sites like myspace.com and Youtube to get info out out the masses, they are usually free marketing tools too.

Um….wow….marketing today is all about technology from the developing of marketing materials to their presentation. For example the internet is the fastest, cheapest, and most efficient way to reach potential customers.
If your marketing strategy does not inlcude technology (specifically the internet), you don’t have a marketing strategy.

it has a negative effect
in that with such a wide dispersal system of information an other “expert” websites / forums, advertisers can no longer take it for granted that they think they may have a winning campaign, only to be undermined by net citizens talking up or down a given product ( Witness MS Vista Launch, DOA by many who saw it a huge negative, ditto for PS3 and other seemingly sure winners by those who were trying to sell or break through ). The upside of course is the very same mechanisms can also boot you sales unexpectedly.
