when you scan them it should give you a option to save if so save them to documents then add them as a attachment to your mail
It’s difficult to provide specifics due to the wide variety of printers and scanning software. For scanning purposes, having a wireless printer does not give you a big advantage because you actually have to be next to the printer to scan the documents.
In general, what a scanner does is convert a hard copy document into a digital format (an image, a PDF, a Word document, etc).
To scan a document please follow the guidelines below.
- Open printer scanning software. Most printer companies like HP and Lexmark provide their own scanning software.
- Set up scanning options – Do you want the digital (scanned) document converted to an image or do you want to scan it into a PDF document format? It all depends on what are you scanning and who is receiving the digital image on the other end. I recommend scanning to a PDF every time. PDF accepts text and images, plus almost every computer owner can read and easily print that document format.
- Set up the location of your scanned documents – Make sure you know where the scanned documents are going to be stored. You will need to know when sending out your e-mail (read below).
- Scan the document – Your scanner software will indicate when and how to scan. Depending on the printer/scanner, it could take from a few seconds to a few minutes to scan a document.
- Edit the document – Most scanning software will give you a preview option to optionally crop the document, re-size it, rotate it, or pretty much do anything with the image. If no changes are required then you have to push the scan button again to confirm the final version of the scanned image.
- Rename the document – Locate the scanned document and make sure you rename it before sending it out. It is easier to know what “Deck measurements – Page 1.PDF” means than a document named “Scan0001.PDF”
- Repeat the process until you are finished
- Open your preferred e-mail client (Outlook, Gmail, Yahoo, etc.)
- Select the Insert attachments option – look for the attachments on the folder specified above and add them to the e-mail message.
- Send the message with the attachments
- Done
