Would it be weird to send a birthday card to a guy I’ve been emailing from an internet dating site?

I’ve met this guy three times and we have been emailing for about 5 months. Would it be weird to ask for his address and post him a birthday card? He is shy and I really like him :) We spend 10 hours together on Saturday. What could I write in the card to show him I like him?

Nope. Writing a birthday card would be great for a shy guy :)

    Great idea!!

Maybe try not to tell him that you want to send him a card, if you can casually get his address, maybe to meet him at some point, then the card could be a nice surprise for him. Try hinting at a private joke in the card, and keep it simple, but more importantly, write it from your own heart, he’ll hear you speak the words as he reads them, and he’ll appreciate the extra effort.

Ooh, I like this question! Send him an e-card and attach a message requesting his address so you can send him a “real” one next year with a flirty little lilt to it!

    Good luck!

If you had never met, I would say a firm and definite, non argumentative NO, but you have met him, and you must have been getting along, so, going about it the right way, not sounding creeping like you want to stalk him, but not giving it away that you want to send him a birthday card.

Be nice about it, and if he isn’t comfortable with giving you an address, definitely don’t push it. You could always email one to him instead.

As for what to put in it, that’s really up to you, but don’t be too heavy on the lovey dovey’s. Just be calm, cool, and casual and you’ll do fine.

I’d rather send an ecard. On wealthychats.com, many users do that on the birthday of their friends.

Another reason for that is some guys don’t use their real birth date. So the birthday may not be true.
