Is it rude to request a read receipt when emailing your resume to an online job posting?

Posted Thursday, December 2, 2010 by admin

I’ve been applying to jobs, and usually use gmail online, but recently I’ve been using Outlook as I find it to be quicker and easier, and forgot that I automatically request a read receipt. Does this look bad to a possible employer?

no, its not rude. not at all, if you take the time to write a resume and email it to someone you have the absolute right to know if the person read it or not. I suggest you continue request a read receipt…i would, and the other person shouldnt take it as anything rude, if they think its rude, than your better off not working for them
